Article by Linebuilder
What’s authority? Once you hear of the phrase high Page rank back links, that which is ensured is undoubtedly high pagerank links. Pagerank is actually a period which usually Yahoo employs to speed products you can a website. A top quality as well as expertise online site, largely gets it is high Pagerank since the device provides excellent written content, and also numerous quality backlinks. A lot of these oneway links calculate just as ballots for those blog, the more votes a webpage includes, the harder expert(or pr juice) it is going to pick up through Msn. This will make it appear just as if it’s painless approach, solely receive two thousand one-way links and you are obviously completed, I’m fearful there exists a tad a lot more into it consequently the volume of one-way links leading towards your internet site.

Back-links might not be the same. The perfect backlink that anyone can possess comes from a webpage that features a substantial Page rank therefore one. This pageranks originate as 3 that will 13, 2 appearing small together with 9 staying very high. Then when you have a oneway link from your Page rank 1 blog, them hasn’t got equally as much influence being backlink with a Google page rank 4 web page. For instance, hundred Public realtions 3 back links, will surely have a similar authority as suppose 3 Page ranking 6 back links. It is calculate, I wouldn’t enjoy the very same statistics however i believe you get the idea. This won’t imply you will not need poor Authority inbound links, you decide to do simply because it isn’t going to start looking organic so that you can Bing as soon as you just have increased Google page rank one way links directed your web site. Each websites has got lower Authority one-way links systems work efficiently number these products around when you are performing your linkbuilding. An all-natural oneway link interact appears some sort of pyramid, numerous very low Publicity links at the base after which you can moving up the ladder to raised PRs yet reduce degrees of them. For example it will need 1000 Public realtions 1 hyperlinks, 600 PR1, 450 PR2, 300 PR3, sixty PR4, 15 or more Pagerank a few and so on.

Great Public relations back links are difficult to acquire, particularly the ones which come as a result of online sites linked to your own specialised niche. It doesn’t ought to be relevant when you can aquire a oneway link originating from a increased authority connected web site it is often a high quality one-way link. If you’re wanting in the bigger Pagerank setting up more appeal back links on your site, you should not count on that your chosen site is going to instantly get yourself a higher Public realtions. Yahoo revisions its Public realtions only a few times yearly. Your websites definitely will already have the better influence, Msn solely shouldn’t help absolutely everyone comprehend this but.

Achieve great Public relations inbound links develop a larger search engine results position? This is often a hard concern to resolve. It happens to be partly real, your position on the internet relies upon additional elements afterward about the Google page rank of this blog. Your content regularly should be associated ones concentrated key terms, you need your site certainly improved for a keywords and so on. I recognize right from working experience which usually substantial Page rank links undertake overall boost your positions however won’t warranty that it’ll show up within the to start with internet page for The search engines.

It can be hard and very lengthy for getting high-quality high Pagerank oneway links, you could outsource this to a skilled building links assistance. A reverse phone lookup is oftentimes as used by online marketers and also other website owners of which contract out their particular link-building to extend their own rank.

Do Reciprocal Links Work To Increase My Page Rank?

Article by David Fishman

Reciprocal links work like this. You will put your link on someone else’s website and they will be able to list their website on yours. It is a trade off. But, there has been a lot of controversy about these links. Do they work to help improve your page rank in search engines? Do they hurt your page rank? Should you bother investing in them? To answer these questions, take a moment to consider both sides of the coin. The bottom line, to most webmasters, is that they are capable of working for you.

Why They May Not Be Good

When reciprocal links first began to be used, it was a trade off between one webmaster and another. If you were in the home decorating business, for example, it would be beneficial to work with and have a link to a company that provides windows. You both would benefit. When the webmasters did this, they found that their websites did in fact rank better. In fact, it worked so well that they went out and sought more and more of them.

There in lies the problem. Instead of working with other website owners to develop a relationship and create a reciprocal link that benefited both parties, many website developers found that they could buy these links instead. Now, they did not have to go to the trouble of luring in those that they would like to have links from but they could just buy them. Okay, this is not so bad right? The problem was that people were buying and using thousands of reciprocal links on their website. This is completely unnatural and it just didn’t work well for them.

But, Why?

The search engines soon became wise to this scheme of getting your website to rank well. They developed programs that would spot this problem and in fact people that used this large amount of reciprocal links, in this fashion, were ranked WORSE! They would spend top dollar to get these links from companies that were all too willing to sell them and would end up well back into the search pages.

So, Now What?

Keeping these things in mind, you need to consider wisely if you should in fact use reciprocal links for the websites that you put up. In most cases, if you take the time to work at getting reciprocal links from qualified webmasters instead of buying large amounts of them, you are more capable of securing a sound method for increasing your page rank. If you decide to purchase hundreds of them and slap them on your website quickly, you will face a worst case scenario of lowering your page rank.

Keep in mind as well that one of the best ways to increase traffic to your web page with links is to use one way links. You can get these by using article directory sites. There may not be a sure fire way to take a brand new site and get it as number one in the search engines, you can gain some movement upwards if you use links properly.

SEO: One-Way and Reciprocal Links

SEO: One-Way and Reciprocal Links

Article by Matthew Bredel

A few days ago, I wrote about SEO and some of the ways to help make your URL more search engine friendly. I also talked about the other ways of improving your SEO by getting other sites to link to you. Remember that there is essentially 2 main types of links:

1) One-Way Links2) Reciprocal Links

(Yes, I know there are circular links, three-way links, etc, but these can technically be included in the “one-way” links categories…we will discuss that in a second). First, a reciprocal link is one where you are offering links one-for-one with another website: “If you put my URL on your website, I will place your link on my website.” This is the foundation of what people refer to as a “link exchange.” Mind you, a link exchange can be more than just an eye for an eye. This can include: “If you put my site on your site, I will link back to yours from another one of my websites”. Also, some people swap URLs in circular manners. This is a follow-on of the last thing I talked about. Let’s take a step back for a second and review the two:

Reciprocal Link: site A <-> site BThree-Way Link: URL A -> URL B -> URL CSo the Circular link is as follows:Circular Link: URL A -> URL B -> URL C -> site A

Now the big issue is: Does it matter?, there is a lot of concern on whether reciprocal links are really worth anything? Do they cancel each other out? Secondly, what is the difference between the Three-Way link, the Circular link and is that a concern?

Basically, there is really no answer to any of these questions. What I do know is this:

1) One-Way links are better than Reciprocal Links2) Three-Way links are superior than Circular Links. There is some belief that Google, for example, is smart enough to realize the full circle of links. 3) Any link that is directed to your website (reciprocal or not) is a good backlink.

You will not be penalized for who links to YOU. However, who you link TO needs to be given some consideration. Remember, you are GIVING your PageRank with whomever you are linking to. Further, if you are linking to not related, obsolete, or removed websites, Google may punish you for it.

But at the end of the day, getting links pointing to your website is always a good thing. I will go over some great ways of getting one-way links in upcoming articles. Until then…

Are Reciprocal Links Dead?

Are Reciprocal Links Dead?

Article by WG Moore

Are Reciprocal Links Dead?

If the current indications are correct we may be looking at the end of reciprocal linking as a method of building rank and link popularity, at least as far as Google is concerned.

The latest ‘Google Dance’, nicknamed ‘Jagger’, has caused major concern by those suffering loss of position on the top ranks of the search engine’s listings. So we decided to take a close look at what is happening and see what we could learn.

We have a few small websites that have a limited number of links. These sites are used mostly for research and testing of our primary business in Web Analytics. By analyzing these sites, we were able to quickly get an idea of what is happening in Google’s Jagger Update, which is still in progress at the time of this writing.

By using our web analytics tools, we were able to look at the history of visits by the bots and the links to these small sites. We had to go back as far as January in order to build a picture of Google’s actions. Our software also allows us to look at all links from the SEs, not just those shown by using the browser’s ‘link:’ command. G only reports some of the links to your site, not all.

Here is what we have seen:

Like many other sites, we noticed a sharp drop in rank in our test sites around the first of July. They lost about 40% of their previous link popularity and moved down sharply in rank. Also, duplicate links on a single site disappeared. We now only showed one link from each linking site.

As Jagger started, unlike many others we have seen complain about G’s actions and timing, our sites stayed rather stable. Evidently they had already suffered their major losses. However, there was a small increase in the number of links. This caught our attention. We had expected that, like many others, we would experience further disruptions to our link structure.

But when we examined these links, we were surprised to see that not one of them had been listed with Google a few weeks earlier. Not one. Our research showed that these links had been live in G’s archive, but none had shown up publicly before now. It appeared that there was some sort of ‘aging’ process taking place, but this may just be coincidental. It is more likely that older links disappeared because the host site was lost in the shuffle and our links no longer appeared ‘relevant’.

The other thing we noticed was that not one of these new links was listed on our reciprocal links pages. In other words, all reciprocal links had vanished. We think that this is because G is down-grading or eliminating reciprocal links as a measure of popularity. This does make sense, actually. Reciprocal links are a method of falsifying popularity. Sort of a cheap method of buying a link, if you want to think of it that way.

If your web sites have suffered from the latest ‘dance’, you may want to take a look at the type and source of your links. If they are mostly from link exchanges, you are probably looking at the reason for your move down the list on the search engines.

During the second week of the Jagger Update, a few of our reciprocal links did come back up. However, we also noticed that these were from places where we had highly relevant content. They came from articles where we discussed our area of expertise: Web Analytics, or from forums where we had relevant threads. So we feel that these links came back because of content, not linking.

The other group that came back up was one-way inbound text links, regardless of the originating web site. These links also had strong relevance to our web analytics business. In other words, they contained keywords and/or phrases related to our site and its business.

This research has us now re-evaluating our linking strategy. We urge others to do the same.

We are now concentrating only on building strong one-way inbound links. We are focusing on publicity, articles, directories, and other direct methods of building our image and consumer awareness.

In addition, we are also looking for associated but non competing firms like web developers, Search Engine Marketers, SEOs, web site owners and designers to partner with us to build direct business relationships and the resulting inbound links. This strategy may not be the fastest method of building links, but we feel it is rock solid and within the spirit of good business practices. The best thing is that it is search engine independent.

We will no longer worry about chasing (or beating) the search engines and their ever changing algorithms. That is a fool’s game we are sure to lose.

Instead, we will focus on building rock solid links and popularity with the group that counts: our customers. By focusing on beating our competition and providing a top quality product, plenty of educational information and relevant content, we are sure to move up and stay at the top of the search engine rankings.

It’s something to think about.

Search Engine Optimisation and Reciprocal Links

Search Engine Optimisation and Reciprocal Links

Article by Tom Greaves

SEO is a delicate balance between on page optimisation and off site popularity. One way of quickly increasing your Google ranking is to build effective links back to your pages, a long debated subject is the effectiveness of reciprocal links. Google’s advice is to generate back links that are natural in creation, this is why there is a big question mark over reciprocal links.

A reciprocal link is when you link to another page and a mirror link points back to your page, however this is not the only type of reciprocal link. Many sites have a links page, this is used to build links pointing to various sites around the web in return for a link back to the home page, it is also know as a link farm and is punished significantly by the engines.

A very popular way of building links is to exchange links with popular directories. In my opinion this is an ineffective way of building links. Remember Google wants these links to be natural and listing your page with a directory in return for a link back is not a natural link to your site. It is artificial and Google is not going to award this link the same as it would a naturally acquired link.

If you’re going to build reciprocal links then there is only one real way to accomplish this naturally. Firstly you need to publish quality content on your own site, once you have done this search for other articles, blog posts and forum threads around the web to potentially consider exchanging links with.

For a link to be natural it needs to be relevant and of the highest quality, think to yourself, if Google were to review this link manually would they see anything wrong with it? If you can honestly answer no to this then you are on the right tracks. Even though this is a natural way of building a reciprocal link Google is always going to give a one way link more weight, this is because it is almost guaranteed to have been awarded because of quality and usefulness.

Another aspect you need to worry about it is the depth of links. Reciprocal links are never going to look natural if they all point back to the home page of a site. Try to build your links to deep pages of your site, this will help your overall domain profile and increase rank on deeper pages.

Reciprocal Links

Reciprocal Links

Article by Sandy Naidu

What Is? When two websites agree to link to each other then its called reciprocal linking. Its also commonly called ‘link exchanges’.

Is It Still Relevant? There are lot of articles on the website claiming that search engine algorithms don’t give the same importance to reciprocal links as they did. Well this might well be true. But when you are starting even a small amount of importance counts. Recently when I launched a website I actively went out and sought some reciprocal links and I did notice that it made ‘some’ difference to its rankings. So my judgment on reciprocal links – when you are starting out you should definitely give reciprocal links a go. Once you are well established others will automatically link to you and so you don’t have to worry about reciprocal links as much.

So What Should You Do To Get A Reciprocal Link? Here are my tips:

* Don’t just approach anyone and everyone. Only approach sites which are relevant to your site. If you run a kids activity then you should approach other sites that offer kids products or activities – basically in the kids industry.

* First go to the website and see if they have a links page. If they don’t have one then don’t bother approaching them. They probably don’t do any link exchanges anyway.

* Also try to get the name of the owner (if they have that information listed on the website).

* Send them a short email about who you are and mention that you want to exchange links with them. Address the email to the owner if you know her/his name.

* Please don’t be too pushy in your email message. Be polite.

* I have personally received emails asking for link exchanges. Some messages are too pushy and only talk about the benefits I can get by linking to them. I find this a bit offensive. Link exchanges are a two way street. Both the parties benefit. If you ask me keep the benefits out of the email. If they have a links page they know the benefits anyway.

* Keep the message simple.

* I personally don’t favor any automatic link exchange programs. I like to approach each one manually.

The Key Points: When it comes to reciprocal links the quality and the relevance of the site you are exchanging links with matters. If the other site has a good page ranking then thats even better. So pay close attention to them.
